Our Advice
Do I need a drain pump?
Professional dishwashers usually drain by gravity.
If the drain is high or positioned far from the installation point of your machine, a drain pump will help properly drain the water. With the simple push of a button, the drain pump will allow the washing tank to empty completely once the work cycle is finished.
Attention! The drain pipe must be adjusted to the distance between the machine and the wall drain point, allowing the machine to be removed from its position.
Teikos suggests always consulting your supplier to assess the specific requirements of your kitchen.
Properly load the dishes!
Filling the dishwasher rack neatly without overlapping items will enhance the detergent action of hot water. Positioning tall and narrow items at the center of the rack is the best solution to ensure perfect internal washing.
Teikos also recommends considering that plastic-coated wire racks (compared to solid plastic ones) provide the best washing results. Offering significant water flow (both direct and rebound), they allow dishes to be washed optimally both inside and on the external sides. Additionally, the actual capacity of a wire rack is the best possible, as it lacks reinforcing edges, and the only thickness is the few millimeters of wire that make up its structure. Finally, a wire rack offers no gaps where dirt can hide.
All of this benefits your customers.
For a good wash...
…you need a good rinse!
Teikos water softeners for hard water ensure spotless cutlery and glasses, guaranteeing the absence of limescale, even where regular detergent action cannot reach.
The water softener (or descaler), by retaining the limescale, performs a crucial action. The result on the dishes will be evident, and the machine will last exponentially longer.
A good comparison could be with coffee machines; a water softener on a dishwasher is as important as it is on a coffee machine. The heating characteristics of the water are very similar on both appliances.
The standard wash and rinse temperature settings may sometimes not be sufficient. Based on the characteristics of chemical additives (detergent and rinse aid), it might be worthwhile to customize the standard values.
Adjusting the temperatures, separately for the wash tank and the boiler, is very simple on Teikos machines. On all models, customizing the temperature is very easy thanks to the convenient numbered knobs inside the machine.
The advantages of line work...
A complete washing system with preparation and unloading tables ensures excellent productivity performance. Two operators working together at the input and output of the machine can achieve very high productivity, quickly paying back the investment in the system while meeting the needs of the dining area with fewer dishes.
A complete stainless steel kitchen setup is an excellent foundation for the success of any restaurant, bar, or establishment.
Teikos suggests using service tables with a rear splash guard to prevent dirt from falling between the furniture and the rear wall. An additional shelf on service tables optimizes kitchen space while maintaining the ability to clean the floor up to the wall.
What does double shell mean?
High-end industrial dishwashers offer a double-shell structure. The inner tank, which holds the actual washing and rinsing process, is not in direct contact with the exterior but is enclosed by special panels inside another “shell.”
Teikos invites you to consider the many benefits:
-
Better sound insulation
-
Better thermal insulation
-
Protection of surrounding furniture
-
Energy savings
A double-shell appliance radiates less heat from its outer surfaces compared to a single-shell one (during the rinse phase, temperatures can exceed 80°C!). Heat tends to damage adjacent furnishings (laminate peels, surfaces yellow, etc.); it’s better to keep it in check!
The double shell minimizes heat loss to the outside (water cools more slowly). This feature allows for less intense use of electric heaters, reducing electricity consumption.
Another advantage? The double shell allows for the use of very sturdy door hinges. Specifically, systems can be designed, within certain size limits, without the usual side latches that can hinder the removal of the rack from the tank. A rack full of dishes is heavy! And Teikos knows that!
Door opening can be easily balanced through systems that operate entirely outside the tank. This provides several advantages, including the longevity of the machine, the perceived quality, and the significant benefit of NOT using snap locks, which tend to lose their effectiveness quickly due to steam, detergents, and rinse aids.
The environment, your wallet, and… your back will thank you!
